The Tatirano Social Enterprise website (available at tatirano.org) is run by Tatirano SARLU. The privacy of our users is important to us and we take care to safeguard it. This policy and accompanying linked documents explain how we use your personal information.

What information do we collect?

If you choose to make a single or recurring donation to our bank account we will only retain your contact details if you have provided us with appropriate permission for Gift Aid purposes or if you have independently signed up to our newsletter. We never retain bank details or share your details with other organisations.

Donations made indirectly via Connect for Water are processed outside by our partner Connect for Water and adhere to their privacy policies and terms of use as described on their website.

If you register to receive emails from us, we will collect the information necessary to provide these services to you. As a minimum, we will require your name, e-mail address and country. We will also collect information from you if you complete any other forms on our site, for example our Contact form.

What do we use personal information for?

We will only use your personal information for the purposes you choose. We will never pass your information to third parties, other than to our carefully selected service providers (upon whom we will impose strict contractual requirements) or where permitted or required by law.

If you decide you would like to receive our regular newsletter you will receive this email at most once per week. An unsubscribe link will be provided in every email we send, should you wish to stop receiving emails from us.

Information collected automatically

We automatically collect information about your visit to our site. This information is used to make your visit to our site more efficient, and to help us follow browsing preferences on our site so that we can make regular improvements and so that we can determine what subjects are of most interest to particular groups of users. Our external web host may also automatically log your IP address, a unique identifier for your computer or other access device. Log file analysis is used to monitor our website usage, However, we will make no attempt to identify individual users, except where there is a reasonable suspicion that unauthorised access to systems is being attempted.

Transferring information overseas

As a social enterprise operating from Madagascar, we recognise that data protection laws may not be as strict as other jurisdictions, for example the US, UK and EU. However, we take all necessary steps to adequately protect your data in this context.

Information requests

You can ask for a copy of the information we hold about you at any time (for which we may charge a small fee). We will also correct any inaccuracies in your information at your request.

If we make changes to our Privacy Policy, we will update this page, and where appropriate may also contact you via email. This policy was last updated in January 2020.
